Why "Mimi"

Great question!  Our hope is to provide a forever home for a girl between 3 and 15 years of age from Ethiopia.  Since we're not adopting a baby, we are more likely to keep the girl's current name ... but we don't know what that name is.

So we find ourselves talking about "the girl we're going to adopt".  If we want to pray for her, we didn't have a specific name.  So we went out to a English-Amharic online translation site.  I searched for the term "baby girl".  Not meaning literally a baby girl, but as a term of endearment.  So this is what it shows (below)

It's pronounced "mimi" and so that's how we'll address our baby girl until we know her name.
